Sacramento 95. Portland 94

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Arvydas Sabonis was short on a potential go-ahead hook shot with three seconds to play and Derek Anderson missed a follow jumper from the right baseline just before the buzzer as the Sacramento Kings held on Saturday night for a 95-94 triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers to post their fifth straight win.

Portland trailed, 93-89, after a 3-pointer by Bobby Jackson with 1:48 to play, but Rasheed Wallace countered with a shot from the arc and added a baseline jumper with 59 seconds remaining to put the Blazers ahead, 94-93.

After Jackson missed a 3-pointer with 40 seconds to go, the Blazers got a chance to pad the lead. But Anderson missed a jumper with 18 seconds left and Sabonis blindly threw the loose ball over his shoulder as he chased it in the left corner.

Hedo Turkoglu took possession, was floored by Wallace and nailed the ensuing free throws with 14 seconds remaining for the final margin.

On the final play, Sabonis had difficulty getting off a shot against Vlade Divac, but the rebound went to Anderson, who drew contact from Jackson but did not get a foul call.

Chris Webber scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Jackson added 22 points and Turkoglu and Doug Christie had 15 apiece for the Kings, who won for just the second time in 14 trips to the Rose Garden.

Wallace contributed a season-high 30 points and Zach Randolph scored nine of his 13 in the fourth quarter for Portland, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
