Cincinnati 14, Milwaukee 5

CINCINNATI, May 8 (UPI) -- Rookies Austin Kearns and Reggie Taylor each homered and drove in three runs Wednesday night as the Cincinnati Reds completed a three-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers with a 14-5 rout.

Cincinnati swept a three-game series from Milwaukee for the first time since June 30-July 2, 1997. The Reds used a 13-hit attack to score a season high in runs and send the Brewers to their 13th loss in 15 games.

Milwaukee took a 5-2 lead into the fifth inning before things fell apart. Brewers starter Nick Neugebauer (1-4) walked Juan Encarnacion and Sean Casey in front of Kearns' third home run that tied the game.

Adam Dunn walked, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch as Todd Walker walked. Corky Miller's sacrifice fly gave the Reds the lead for good at 6-5.

Dunn added a bases-clearing double in the sixth and Taylor connected for a two-run homer an inning later, the first of his career.

Cincinnati's bullpen allowed just three hits in 5 2/3 scoreless innings. Jose Acevedo (3-1) made his first career relief appearance and tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
