CHICAGO, April 14 (UPI) -- Melvin Mora and Jay Gibbons homered and drove in three runs each Sunday as the Baltimore Orioles posted a 9-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Mora, who had two hits in Saturday's loss, drove an 0-2 fastball from Chicago starter Dan Wright (1-1) over the left field fence to give Baltimore a 4-0 lead in the second inning.
After Mora scored on David Segui's two-run single two innings later, Gibbons plated Segui and staked the Orioles to a 9-2 lead with his third home run of the season.
Calvin Maduro (1-1) allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings before being relieved by Rodrigo Lopez.
Lopez allowed a run in two innings and worked out of an eighth-inning jam by getting Carlos Lee to fly out to centerfield.
Jorge Julio struggled with his control in the ninth inning but got Frank Thomas to hit into a game-ending grounder with two aboard.
