Oakland 13, San Francisco (ss) 10

PHOENIX, March 20 (UPI) -- Scott Hatteberg drove in seven runs Wednesday as the Oakland Athletics outslugged a split squad of San Francisco Giants, 13-10.

Hatteberg collected three hits and belted a three-run homer for the Athletics, who banged out 16 hits.

Both starters were pounded. Oakland's Cory Lidle surrendered nine runs and 11 hits over three innings. San Francisco's Russ Ortiz yielded six runs and eight hits over 4 1/3 innings.

Eric Chavez and Jeremy Giambi also homered for the Athletics, who rallied from a 9-0 deficit after 2 1/2 innings.

Rich Aurilia homered for the Giants, who scored single runs in the first and second innings before erupting for seven in the third.

Matt Miller recorded the win, tossing two hitless innings in relief of Lidle. Jeff Tam gave up one run and three hits over two innings before Billy Koch recorded the final three outs for his second save of the spring.

Luis Estrella suffered the loss, yielding five runs and six hits over 1 2/3 innings in relief of Ortiz. The Athletics scored five runs in the sixth to open an 11-7 lead.

The Giants also had 16 hits, including three by Pedro Feliz.
