New Jersey 2, Buffalo 2 (OT)

BUFFALO, N.Y., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Taylor Pyatt scored with 1:50 remaining in regulation Tuesday night as the Buffalo Sabres rallied for a 2-2 tie with the New Jersey Devils.

Among the most disappointing teams in the league, the Devils were less than two minutes from their first three-game winning streak since a six-game run from Oct. 20-Nov. 1 before Pyatt got the equalizer.

Jason Woolley helped set up the play, skating by fellow defenseman Andrei Zyuzin along the left boards. He fed the puck to Pyatt, who moved to the right of the New Jersey net and lifted the puck past goaltender Martin Brodeur for his fifth goal to tie it.

It was the second time in the last four games that New Jersey surrendered a tying goal late in regulation. Five days ago, the Devils gave up the tying goal to the Atlanta Thrashers with two seconds remaining.

Jason Arnott and John Madden scored for the Devils, who did improve to 4-1-2 since Kevin Constantine replaced Larry Robinson as coach. New Jersey also moved into seventh place in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of the New York Rangers.
