Memphis 119, LA Clippers 115 (OT)

MEMPHIS, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Rookie Pau Gasol scored 23 points and Stromile Swift added 22 as the Memphis Grizzlies ended a seven-game losing streak Monday night with a 119-115 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Memphis had a 98-89 advantage with 2:47 left in regulation before Los Angeles closed with an 11-2 run to force the extra session. Elton Brand, who scored 26 points, capped the run with a three-point play with 26 seconds remaining.

Gasol scored with 3:44 to go in overtime to put Memphis ahead for good at 104-102. He came up with the game's key play 34 seconds later by drawing Brand's sixth foul and making 1-of-2 free throws.

The Clippers drew within 110-108 on a basket by Darius Miles with 70 seconds remaining. Swift responded with a basket and Brevin Knight made two free throws for a 114-108 cushion with 32 seconds left.

Michael Olowokandi matched a career high with 27 points for Los Angeles, which has not beaten the Grizzlies on the road since Nov. 16, 2000. The Clippers are just 3-15 away from home this season.
