LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Tayshaun Prince scored 22 points and led a 3-point assault Wednesday night as the eighth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats maintained their dominance of Tulane with a 101-67 rout at Freedom Hall.
Kentucky was coming off Saturday's 82-62 victory over Louisville and former Wildcats coach Rick Pitino, under whom Tubby Smith worked as an assistant at UK. On Wednesday, Smith defeated Shawn Finney, who served as his assistant from 1998-2000.
Prince was 10-of-13 from the field and made 2-of-3 3-pointers as Kentucky (9-2) shot 16-of-32 from beyond the arc. The 16 3-pointers were a season high for the Wildcats, who have won three straight and improved to 40-5 all-time against Tulane.
Nine different players connected from long range for Kentucky. Keith Bogans and freshman reserve Rashaad Carruth each nailed three 3-pointers while Prince, Cliff Hawkins and Gerald Fitch each made two.
Bogans and Fitch each chipped in 16 points. Fitch also had 10 rebounds for his second career double-double while Carruth finished with 11 points and Hawkins 10.
Waitari Marsh scored 12 points and Brandon Brown and Brandon Spann each added 11 for the Green Wave (8-3), which fell to 0-22 all-time on the road against Kentucky, including an 0-8 mark in Louisville.
