New Wolverines coach Tommy Amaker played for Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski from 1984-1987 and assisted the Hall of Famer from 1989-1997. Amaker will try to snap a three-game Michigan skid against Duke, which has scored at least 100 points in each of its victories. The Blue Devils demolished the Wolverines, 104-61, last season at home.
The Blue Devils, who lead their all-time series with the Wolverines, 15-7, defeated Temple, 82-57, on Wednesday night. It was Duke's 17th straight regular-season victory, and it gave the team its 10th 7-0 start under Krzyzewski.
Jason Williams and Mike Dunleavy each recorded double-doubles in the win against the Owls. Williams had a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds and Dunleavy added 24 and 10.
Duke held Temple to under 38 percent shooting, including an 8-for-23 performance by the nation's leading scorer, Lynn Greer. Chris Duhon, who guarded Greer most of the game, had 11 of the team's 21 assists.
Michigan also enters the game with a win. The Wolverines snapped a three-game losing streak with a 91-62 victory over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne on Tuesday.
Chris Young scored a career-high 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against the Mastodons. LaVell Blanchard scored a season-high 18 points while Bernard Robinson Jr. added 16.
