UNICEF through a climate ambassador program welcomed students from Bolivia, Haiti, Zambia and Bangladesh to address the impact of climate change on future generations.

"The Earth is not a gift but something borrowed, and we have to give it back to future generations," said 17-year-old Darwin Pena of Bolivia.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy during a joint news conference Friday pledged billions in financial support to help bolster the advancement of green energy technology, the Times of London reports.

The leaders pledged to ensure "predictable" revenue through a series of taxes to help address climate change.

"We will work together on this," the leaders said.

European leaders also announced Friday they would commit substantial revenue to help developing nations move toward clean energy practices.
