Both sides under the terms of the agreement agreed to move forward with various gas plans for Gazprom, including the construction of regional gas pipelines and gas trunkline systems.

The agreement requires the government of Vologda Oblast to assist Gazprom in its strategic projects planned for the region. This deals particularly with the allocation of land plots, the energy giant said.

The government also must adopt a schedule to convert its resources to standby fuel reserves in preparation for cold winter spells.

Gazprom, in return, will invest $1.2 million in gasification projects in Vologda Oblast and prepare its customers for gas deliveries.
