WELLINGTON, New Zealand, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- A native New Zealand bird declared extinct in 2007 might still be alive, conservation groups said Wednesday after an apparent sighting of a South Island kokako.
The New Zealand Ornithological Society's records appraisal committee has accepted as probable a sighting near the town of Reefton, China's official Xinhua News Agency reported.
