Sri Lanka demands telco financials

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Regulators in Sri Lanka are giving seven telecom companies two weeks to get their tardy financial statements in.

Lanka Internet and Lanka Global Online are among the telcos that had been required to submit their annual audited accounts under the Telecommunications Act.

Lanka Business Online said Friday that companies that fail to meet the deadline could face fines or even a suspension of approval of tariffs, frequency allocations and equipment imports.
