Saving two right whales can spare species

BOSTON, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Scientists analyzing 10,000 sightings of endangered right whales over 20 years reveal a surprising reason for the dramatic population decline -- the death of mother whales before they can reproduce again. The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute researchers say in Nature saving just two females a year could spare the species.
