Shrimp kebabs, pineapple shrimp, shrimp stew…Shrimp Mayonnaise Doritos?

As part of its line of “gourmet” Doritos, Frito-Lay is releasing a Shrimp Mayonnaise flavor of the popular chips in Japan.

Although it might not sound very appetizing, consider that there have been things like Pepsi-Flavored Cheetos and Bacon Doritos in the past.

The new chips will only be available for a limited time, but curious chip enthusiasts can get their hands on them until March 17. (Maybe a beer on St. Patrick’s Day could help wash them down.

In addition to the shrimp mayonnaise flavor, the gourmet line of Doritos has also offered up tasty flavors like corn soup, Hokkaido camembert cheese and sukiyaki flavor and mushrooms with butter and soy sauce.

Doritos hit shelves in the U.S. in the mid-1960s, but only arrived in Japan in 1987, and they certainly seem to be making up for lost time.
