"Yes, it was my choice to do an illegal drug, but what I did to those cops that night is not who I am,” he says.

At least he didn’t bite anyone’s face off…

Omaha national guardsman Travis Kitkowski is offering his apologies to two Nebraska police officers after he attacked them while running down the street nude, high on bath salts.

During the attack, Kitkowski bit one of the officers and concussed the other. "I'm so sorry to the OPD and whoever I hit that night and whoever I bit that night. It's something out of my characteristic,” he said.

Prior to the incident, which happened more than a week ago, Kitkowski thought he took some lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) in an effort to get “out of his mind."

Unfortunately, his plan worked a little too well.

"I was looking for something different. I got different. I got jail,” Kitkowski said. "It went from me being on the couch just sitting there, like, ‘I'm going to have a great time,’ to boom, hospital. Apparently whatever I took was actually bath salts.”

After ingesting the bath salts, Kitkowski began to feel really weird before running outside in his birthday suit to chase something he can no longer recall. "I felt really cold and I started not being able to breathe,” he said. "I was foaming some type of blue stuff."

The 20-year-old national guardsman may be discharged if he is convicted of a felony.

"Yes, it was my choice to do an illegal drug, but what I did to those cops that night is not who I am,” he said. "It's not worth it. Doing drugs is never ever worth it. That's something I learned out of that.”
