Nov. 27 (UPI) -- The details about the disappearance of 25-year-old Cassandra LaFave are somewhat opaque, but what is crystal clear is that she has been found and arrested for misdemeanor possession of cocaine.

The West Allis Police Department has confirmed they found LaFave on Nov. 26 after she called the police station to let them know she was safe. She was reported missing on Nov. 20 and a Facebook page dedicated to finding her was created.

After they located her, police arrested LaFave and brought her to the Milwaukee County Jail because of outstanding warrants she had for misdemeanor possession of cocaine, three counts of retail theft and a charge of resisting or obstructing an officer.

The page dedicated to finding LaFave, which now reports that she is safe, had previously referred to her as “kidnapped and endangered.”

It appears that something about the circumstances of her disappearance caused people to believe that it might have something to do with a sex-trafficking ring, but whether that is accurate remains unclear at this time.

According to the page:

“On behalf of the entire LaFave family, we are eternally grateful for your continued prayers and love. A very special thank you to all of the persons who played a role in bringing Cassandra home safely. We know that it was not easy for some of you to step forward with information. Thank you to Veronica' Voice in Kansas City, MO, your commitment to your work is admirable. Thank you to the West Allis Sensitive Crimes division for your diligent work on this case.”
