A crocodile trainer in a popular crocodile farm in Samut Prakan, Thailand got an unexpected surprise while performing one of his tricks on Sunday.

Pravit Suebmee, 27, has been putting his head inside crocodiles mouths for eight years -- presumably without incident -- but last weekend, his head was bitten by a reptile during his act, prompting the audience to shriek in a ghastly manner.

The man was able to get his head out of the crocodile's mouth before things got out of hand. Other than injuries on his face and neck, Suebmee was not seriously injured.

According to the owner of the farm, Uthen Youngprapakorn, the trainer must have slipped on the wet ground and startled the animal by brushing its cheek.

"This is the first time this has happened at our crocodile farm," Mr Uthen said. "I've regularly warned the performers to be careful at all times."
