April 7 (UPI) -- New York police executing a search warrant on a Brooklyn home seized crack cocaine, a loaded handgun, and an illegal pet -- a caiman.

The New York Police Department said officers with the Emergency Service Unit and the 78 Precinct Field Intelligence Officer executed a search warrant about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday on a home in Brooklyn.

The officers seized an illegal loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun, an undisclosed quantity of crack cocaine, and a foot-long caiman, a crocodile cousin native to the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Police said the caiman, which did not have the proper permits to be kept in the city, was in a tank in the home's living room.

Habakkuk Tracey, 41, was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a loaded firearm, and keeping a prohibited wild animal.
