The video sparked numerous angry comments and tweets from viewers who branded the stunt animal cruelty.
TotalFratMove defended the posting of the video in a post on its website.
"I can admit that it's in relative poor taste, but it's not so bad that it deserves all this attention, or even close to it," the post said. "This is just the next thing that the angry internet mob is seeking their teeth into."
The location of the video was unclear, but several viewers suggested it may have been filmed in Florida, where it's legal to fish for sharks from the beach.
