Polar bear tries to attack 5-year-old through glass wall at zoo

Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A New York state dad captured footage of a polar bear apparently trying to attack his 5-year-old son through the glass wall of a zoo enclosure.

Remzi Yates captured video of his son, Remzi Yates III, posing in front of the polar bear enclosure at the Buffalo Zoo.

The bear scratches and claws at the glass where the boy is standing.

"He's trying to bite you," the father says. "Look at him -- he really is trying to get you."

The boy looks at the bear in amusement, until the huge creature lunges hard at the glass, startling the child.

"My son was at the Buffalo Zoo checking out the polar bear, the bear was swimming up to my son for a minutes so I took the video then the bear charged at the glass and my son got so scared he jumped backward and fell," the elder Yates wrote. "He then laughed about it, it was very funny."
