NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A New Orleans woman says a serial pooper has been leaving nasty surprises on her steps in the early morning hours, and she recently caught the culprit on camera.

The St. Roch woman said someone has done the dirty deed on her front steps more than a dozen times during the past month, and occasional sightings have led her to believe there is a single fecal bandit behind the messes.

"Someone comes here almost every morning and poops," the woman told WDSU-TV.

A video of one of the incidents shows what appears to be a man wearing a wig and women's clothing defecating on the woman's steps. She said the culprit has been spotted in multiple similar outfits.

"They're very big, about 6 feet 1 inches and muscular," she said. "I've seen three different wigs and tight pants, a variety of tops and a big bag."

The woman said she has filed two police reports about the repeated incidents.

"Oh, it's awful and disgusting to have to pull the hose out and hose it off. We're right by the market and a lot of people have to pass down this street. A lot of people pass by here, walking dogs, and I have to drag the hose out and it makes me sick," the woman said.

Neighbor John Victorson said public pooping has become a major problem in the area.

"Somebody has been coming along early in the morning and defecating in the corners," said Victorson. "It's just that kind of neighborhood, not everyone can get home quick enough."

Parents in South Arlington, Va., raised a stink earlier in the summer about a "serial pooper" targeting a public park's playground equipment on multiple occasions. Police said they were increasing patrols in the area in the hopes of catching or dissuading the deuce-dropping delinquent.
