British dad terrified by discovery of 4-foot snake in his back yard

IPSWICH, England, July 27 (UPI) -- A British dad who discovered an unusually large snake in his back yard said the serpent might be a Mexican black kingsnake.

Mark Sampson, 44, spotted the 4-foot snake in the back yard of his Ipswich, England, home and the snake-fearing dad put out a call for help on his Facebook page.

Kevin Wallace, a zoologist at Otley College, responded to the cry for help along with another friend, Kat, who had no prior experience with snakes.

The pair captured the unusual serpent, which was caught on video by Sampson's daughters.

The homeowner said experts have speculated the snake might be a Mexican black kingsnake, but the identification has yet to be officially confirmed.
