ALICE SPRINGS, Australia, June 23 (UPI) -- An Australian reptile sanctuary shared bizarre video of a python trapped inside its own discarded skin after shedding while in the form of a circle.

The Alice Springs Reptile Center in the Northern Territory posted a video to Facebook showing a Stimson's python slithering in circles inside its own discarded skin after shedding in a way that caused its tail skin to end up inside its mouth skin.

"Have been in the reptile business a long time and have never seen anything quite like it," the post said.

The reptile center said the snake was eventually able to punch a hole in its former skin to escape the "steering wheel" shape.
