Alpaca leads police and witnesses on chase through Chinese city streets

WENZHOU, China, June 16 (UPI) -- An escaped alpaca spotted wandering the streets of a Chinese city led police and witnesses on a 30-minute chase through the streets.

Traffic camera footage filmed Friday in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, shows the alpaca casually walking down a city sidewalk after dark before fleeing from a pair of pursuers.

Footage from a second camera shows the two men were able to catch the animal and lead it around on a rope leash.

Police said the alpaca chase lasted for about half an hour and the animal was returned to its owner.
