MONTIGNY-SUR-LOING, France, March 9 (UPI) -- An off-duty firefighter in France rescued a cat trapped behind a gas tank in his neighbor's garage and the rescue was documented on video.

The video shows an off-duty volunteer firefighter named Benjamin working to free the cat trapped behind his neighbor's gas tank in Montigny-sur-Loing, first by trying to get the feline to latch onto a rope.

The rope method proves ineffective at freeing the cat, so Benjamin ends up cutting a hole in the concrete blocks surrounding the tank to allow the cat to escape.

The firefighter said his neighbor fed the cat and gave it a bath. He said the neighbor is now trying to find the feline's owner.
