CHHATTISHGARH, India, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- A goat in India was arrested for trespassing after hopping a judge's fence and grazing in his garden.

The unnamed goat and its owner Abdul Hassan were called into police custody after the judge complained that the goat had repeatedly jumped the fence in attempts to enter the garden.

"My goat scaled the boundary wall again and ate flowers and vegetables from the garden," Hassan told NDTV. "It was taken to the police station and then the police also brought me in."

The goat was discovered by a gardener who told police that this incident was not the first time the goat attempted to enter the garden and Hassan had warned him several times.

"The peon who maintains the garden had warned the owner of the goat many times. So today he filed a complaint and we arrested the goat and its owner," Assistant Sub Inspector RP Srivastava said.

Hassan and the goat were released on bail and they both face charges of criminal trespassing and mischief causing damage.
