VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- A Canadian man found a way too prevent people from overusing the snooze button with his pressure-sensitive alarm clock known as 'Ruggie.'

The combination rug and alarm clock, funded by Kickstarter, features a speaker that will only shut off if the user stands on it for more than three seconds.

The rug is also programed to deliver motivational quotes once the user has stepped on it to begin their day.

The Kickstarter campaign was launched by Winston Tam, who came up with the idea for Ruggie, and was funded in just five days after its release. It also exceeded its intended goal of $36,113 by raising $96,777.

The product is expected to retail for $99 when it releases in September.
