EXETER, England, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- A fixed camera at a British beach captured footage of a suspected meteorite falling out of the sky and plunging into the sea.

The Facebook account for the Dawlish Beach Cam, a live webcam at the Devon, England, beach, posted an excerpt from early Wednesday morning that appears to show a glowing object falling out of the sky and disappearing into the water.

"What was caught on camera the other night? Was it a bird or a plane, maybe even superman," administrators wrote in the caption for the video, posted Thursday.

The video was shot one day after residents in nearby York, England, reported spotting a ball of fire streak across the sky.
