The video, dated Nov. 20, shows the long-tailed Gentoo penguin chick split its egg in half and slowly emerge from the shell before being welcomed into the world by a nudge from its mother's beak. Advertisement Gentoo penguin eggs incubate for an average 34 days and chicks are normally cared for by their mothers for about 14 weeks after hatching.
