NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Turns out the Big Apple might be a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

A New York comedy group parodied a viral video of a woman being catcalled in New York by putting Star Wars' Princess Leia in the same situation.

The Are We There Yet Comedy group filmed an actress dressed as Princess Leia, played in the film series by Carrie Fisher, walking the streets of New York and being harassed by fellow Star Wars characters including Luke Skywalker, Yoda and Darth Vader.

The video uses several actual quotes from the film series and features a cameo from one character who stumbled into the "wrong movie."

Writers Josh Apter and Gary Mahmoud based the skit on a viral video showing actress Shoshana Roberts walking the streets of New York for 10 hours and being catcalled more than 100 times.

A similar experiment in New Zealand failed to catch a single incident of harassment.
