World's fastest golf cart: 118.76 mph

The Plum Quick team beat their own record for the world's fastest golf cart.

DARLINGTON, S.C., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- A golf cart modified for speed reached 118.76 mph at a South Carolina racetrack, breaking the Guinness World Record for fastest golf cart.

The Plum Quick Racing Team took their golf cart out on the track Friday at Darlington Dragway and they were able to take the cart to a speed of 118.76 mph, besting the previous record of 103.65 mph, which was also set by the Plum Quick team.

The team said the modified cart is still composed of "90 percent stock" parts.
