CHANGSHA, China, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- A Chinese hospital dressed men in bras containing fake breasts and had them perform tasks including jumping rope to raise breast cancer awareness.

The Hunan Cancer Hospital had male volunteers don mastectomy bras, which are designed to be worn by women who had their breasts removed due to cancer, and perform tasks including jumping rope, carrying buckets of water and mopping the floor.

Long She, a spokesman for the hospital, said the event was aimed at raising breast cancer awareness and giving men an idea of women's struggles.

"It was intended to be a way to show men how women who've had mastectomies suffer when they're doing ordinary household things day in day out," the spokesman said. "We think we put over a serious message in a way people will remember."
