Thousands of bees escape truck in Florida

Video taken on Interstate 4 near Orlando shows motorists rolling up their windows to protect themselves from bees hemorrhaging from a truck.

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Motorists driving behind a leaky bee truck on a stretch of Florida interstate had to roll up their windows to keep the insects out of their cars.

Video footage taken of the truckload of bees on Interstate 4 in the Orlando area shows bees escaping from the truck by the thousands and motorists rolling up their windows to prevent the swarming insects from invading their vehicles, WKMG-TV reported.

The truck is from a company based in Maine. Regulations allow bees to be transported via truck at designated times of the year with special out-of-state shipping permits.
