Florida man repeatedly calls police for ride to buy alcohol

Adam Lanquist proceeded to tell police he needed a drink after saying his girlfriend needed to go to a rehab center.

OCALA, Fla., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Florida man Adam Lanquist was arrested Tuesday after allegedly repeatedly calling 911 to request a ride to the liquor from police.

Ocala police said Lanquist began by calling 911 and requesting them to arrest his girlfriend. The authorities investigated and arrested the woman on domestic violence charges.

After she was taken by officers, he called and said she needed to be taken to a rehab center instead. It was during one of these phone calls that Lanquist asked police to drive him so he could get a drink.

The police arrested Lanquist for misuse of 911 and sent him to Marion County Jail.
