Enough to make you a Belieber? Bieber's 'Baby' saves Russian man during bear attack

YAKUTIA REPUBLIC , Russia, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A Russian man is alive thanks to a ringtone on his cellphone that blasted Justin Bieber's "Baby" while he was being attacked by a brown bear.

Why the 42-year-old had that particular ringtone on his phone is another issue altogether.

Igor Vorozhbitsyn was going to a fishing hole in northern Russia's Yakutia Republic when the bear pounced and began to maul him.

Suddenly, Vorozhbitsyn's phone went off and Bieber's tune blared out. The pop song caught the bear by surprise and it got scared off.

After the beast disappeared into the woods, Vorozhbitsyn used the same phone to call for help.

"I couldn't believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled," Vorozhbitsyn said after the attack, the Austrian Times reported.

So why did he have the Biebs on his mobile device?

"I know that sort of ringtone isn't to everyone's taste but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke," Vorozhbitsyn said.
