"The investigation was initiated after the sheriff's office received complaints of fraud by customers of Welch," the sheriff's office said in a statement, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

An officer went into Minden's shop and got a $25 tarot card reading.

The 64-year-old then allegedly said the officer's spouse was having an affair, but that she could fix the problem for a $700 fee.

After being paid, Welch gave the officer three long-stemmed roses and a plastic bag emblazoned with "Spiritual Karma Cleanser," the Record-Courier reported.

Welch was arrested and booked into jail.
