SALEM, N.H., June 17 (UPI) -- Guess the log ride will have to wait until next year...

According to Salem police, the Perrys showed up at the park and attempted to go inside with knives attached to their belts. When the family was asked to put their cutlery back in the car, they became upset and two police officers were called to the park entrance.

One of the family members, Joshua Perry, then allegedly began yelling profanities and was eventually told he was being arrested.

While the officers attempted to handcuff the 23-year-old, other family members "attacked the officers, including jumping on their backs, punching, kicking and grabbing for their weapons," WMUR reported.

Other officers were called to the scene and five members of the Perry family were brought into custody. In addition to Joshua, Allen Perry, 45, Brian Perry, 18, Ashley Perry, 20, and Damian Perry, 18, face a variety of charges including resisting arrest with serious injury, simple assault on an officer, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.

Canobie Lake Park issued the following statement about the incident:

"While passing through a security bag check, it was discovered that a guest possessed a restricted item. The guest became unruly and the situation quickly escalated resulting in a physical altercation. Our immediate concern is for the officers that were injured during this event. At no time were any guests in danger."

Both officers were left with minor wounds and one of them sustained a serious shoulder injury.

This isn't the first amusement park-related brawl in recent memory...
