Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe PARIS, May 19 (UPI) -- A drunk man attempted to scale the Eiffel tower Saturday morning and was about 100 feet up when police were able to coax him down. Police in the seventh arrondissement of Paris received a call at approximately 3:15 a.m. saying that someone trying to climb the monument. After police found him and were able to get him to step down, the man, described to be in his 30s, didn't really give a clear reason as to why he climbed the tower. Police just said, "Basically, he was drunk." Advertisement The Paris police then arrested and charged him and he has been ordered to appear in court.
