LOUIS, April 16 (UPI) -- In an effort to crack down on “johns" who are soliciting prostitutes in town, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department will begin sending a postcard to men who are caught trying to pick up ladies of the night. The postcard reminds the johns that their “lewd, lascivious and/or suggestive behavior (including but not limited to prostitution, solicitation and prostitution loitering) are a violation of city ordinance and state law” and includes a court date. My goal is to put them out of business. Going after johns.— Captain Dan Howard (@CaptainDan301) April 14, 2014 The program will debut in the neighborhoods of Carondelet and Holly Hills. Citizens have issued complaints of "johns" soliciting them in their communities. It's degrading AND illegal.— St. Louis, MO Police (@SLMPD) April 14, 2014 "If patronizing prostitutes is an action you are thinking of participating in, this is a warning, the stakes have gone up." @CaptainDan301 Advertisement— St. Louis, MO Police (@SLMPD) April 14, 2014 [KSDK] Read More Robin Thicke's marriage troubles won't be on dad's reality show South Korea ferry sinks with more than 470 on board, at least 2 dead Zac Efron reportedly dating actress Halston Sage Stephen Colbert to visit Letterman's 'Late Show' Rosie O'Donnell calls Lindsay Lohan's reality show a 'tragedy on every level'
