Police: Woman stole preserved conjoined twin fetuses

BIISK, Russia, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Russian police said they arrested a woman accused of stealing chemically preserved conjoined twin fetuses from a museum.

Police in the Altai territory in Siberia said the 32-year-old woman allegedly stole the two jars containing conjoined twin fetuses by hiding them under her coat during a visit to the museum in Biisk, RIA Novosti reported Monday.

The museum was hosting an exhibition of preserved human fetuses and organs with anatomical mutations to show the negative effects of alcohol and drug use during pregnancy.

The woman, whose motives for the theft were unclear, was arrested the day after the incident, police said Monday.
