The company a study, carried out to promote the Cadbury Heroes brand, questioned 2,000 Britons about their happiness and determined that "Steve" would be the happiest man, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday. Advertisement He would have blue eyes, a trait found to be common among those who described themselves as the happiest, Cadbury said. The company said the happiest places in Britain were Southampton, England; Cardiff, Wales; and Edinburgh. The study found male participants were generally happier than female respondents. People named Steve, Norman, Tom, Alan, Ken, Wendy, Lesley, Sandra, Anne and Mary reported being the happiest. Single people "who may be footloose and fancy free were not as happy as those who were married," a Cadbury representative said. "Those in their mature years of 60s and 70s were happiest of all compared to their 20-year-old counterparts."
