Winston-Salem police said the excavator, which belongs to Whiting-Turner Construction, was stolen from a construction site and driven about 200 yards to the Allegacy Federal Credit Union around 1 a.m. Monday, the Winston-Salem Journal reported Tuesday. Advertisement The suspect, described as a white male wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and a dark cap, used the excavator's claw to knock over the ATM kiosk at the credit union and then used the machine to lift the 2-ton ATM into a waiting vehicle.
