Pasco County sheriff's deputies said Earl Anthony Florer, 38, saw the pig when he was collecting scrap metal June 8 at a home, asked if he could take it, and was refused by the homeowner, who said she thought the animal belonged to a neighbor, the Tampa Bay Times reported Saturday. A neighbor, Anne Hammond, told deputies the pig, named Piggy, was her pet and had escaped from his cage. Deputies later arrested Florer, who reportedly sold it, the Times said. Piggy was recovered and returned to its owner.
