Robert Weneck, a spokesman for King, said the promoter canceled plans to distribute the turkeys to needy families in Mangonia Park, Deerfield Beach and Miami because the truck was "hijacked," The Palm Beach Post reported Friday.
Weneck said the truck was recovered but King is uncertain whether the turkeys are still safe to eat.
"We don't want to make people sick," Weneck said.
