Lund police said the man brought the note and a knife to the 7-Eleven store near the Lund train station in an attempt to steal $1,800 to cover his gambling debts so he wouldn't lose his apartment, Swedish news agency TT reported Thursday. I am really sorry about this," the note read. Employees pushed the alarm button and police promptly arrived and arrested the man. The robber, who had no previous criminal history, told the court he had been depressed and had recently become divorced at the time of the incident. He was sentenced to probation and ordered to undergo therapy.
