STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- A Swedish woman said her dog escaped from a kennel and took a metro train across six stops to the station nearest to her home.

The woman, who was identified only as Caroline, said she took her 4-year-old black Labrador, Eira, to a day kennel Thursday in the Stockholm suburb of Hokarangen and the dog soon escaped, The Local reported Friday.

She said the dog was seen boarding a metro train and was detained by employees when she got off the train six stops away, at her home station in Stockholm.

"If she hadn't been detained she would probably have been waiting for me by the door," Caroline said.

Station workers called police, who returned Eira to her owner.
