The person who reported the break-in told police the man was either asleep or passed out inside the home.

When police arrived at the house, they found Kristopher Paul Piognee, 29, asleep on the floor. The house was being renovated at the time; no one was home.

Piognee allegedly broke a window to get inside the home and was attempting to steal copper pipes.

Police said the garage also was broken into, along with another empty home in the neighborhood.
