Most singles agree on dating dress code

DALLAS, July 10 (UPI) -- U.S. singles have decidedly strong and overwhelmingly similar views for what to wear and do on summer dates, a survey by match.com indicates.

The Match.com survey also indicates many agree on what they want a companion to wear on a summer date.

Eighty-one percent of the men like women to wear white pants on a date, but 92 percent of men prefer them to wear short skirts. Twelve percent of men say midriff-baring shirts should stay in the closet and 63 percent of the men say they like braided hair on their date, but 56 percent of men really don't care for the big sunglasses look.

Sixty-eight percent of women say it's never appropriate for a date to show up wearing skinny jeans, 80 percent of women say a guy should never walk around shirtless, even if he has rock-solid abs and 93 percent say they prefer a man wear a polo shirt and khakis on a date.

Fifty-three percent of the men said it's not acceptable for a woman to wear a thong swimsuit for a beach or pool date, while 91 percent of women said they're not ready to see their date sport a Speedo at the beach or pool.
