PARIS, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Internet pranksters used a technique known as "Google bombing" to make French President Nicholas Sarkozy's name the top result for an insulting phrase.

The pranksters used a series of sites linking the term "trou du cul" -- a phrase roughly translating to "hole of the anus" -- to Sarkozy's Facebook account, causing the social networking page to become the top search result for the phrase, Radio France Internationale reported Tuesday.

Sarkozy's office did not immediately comment on the prank.

Previous targets of high-profile Google bomb pranks include linking the word "liar" to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's official Web site and the phrase "miserable failure" to the site of former U.S. President George W. Bush.

Herrin said deputies arrived to find a broken window, the door unlocked and Adrian Alonso and Iliu Gonzalez lying on the floor of the home.

The couple told police they broke in to "make out." They were arrested and charged with criminal mischief.

Alleged speeder claims trying to dry car

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Police in Illinois said a man pulled over for speeding told an officer he was trying to dry off his car after getting it washed.

Naperville police said Lucas Wright, 24, was pulled over at about 7 p.m. Wednesday after an officer clocked him driving about 100 mph in a 50 mph zone, the Naperville Sun reported.

Police Sgt. Lee Martin said Wright offered an excuse for his speeding that no one in the department heard before.

"He said he'd just gotten his car washed and he was trying to dry it off," Martin said.

Wright was charged with a misdemeanor count of speeding 40 mph or more over the posted limit. Martin said the car, which was still wet from its recent washing, was towed and temporarily impounded.

Estate sale shopper's bike sold

PENSACOLA, Fla., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- A Florida man who rode his bicycle to an estate sale said the $450 bike was mistakenly sold for $5 while he was inside.

Jim Rodney, 56, of Pensacola, said he parked his bicycle outside the estate sale Saturday and emerged to discover his bike had accidentally been sold by a family member handling the sale while haggling over a different bike, the Pensacola News Journal reported Tuesday.

Rodney said organizers of the estate sale offered him $100 for the loss of his 27-inch, 21-speed Schwinn Super Sport.

"I thanked them, but I told them that that wouldn't help me get my bicycle back," Rodney said.

"I'm hoping that the person who bought the bike will see this and realize that a mistake was made and have the kind-enough heart to get it back to me," Rodney said.
