Man learns casino losses not deductible

LAS VEGAS, July 6 (UPI) -- A Las Vegas woman who won $10 million on a lottery scratch-off ticket said it was her fourth major jackpot win during the past 17 years.
Joan Ginther, 63, who recently moved to Las Vegas from Texas, said her first lottery win came in 1993, when she won half a share of a Texas Lottery $11 million jackpot, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported Tuesday.
Ginther said she next won $2 million from a scratch-off ticket in 2006 and won a further $3 million from another scratch card in 2008.
The woman's latest win was a $10 million jackpot from a Texas Lottery scratch-off card, which also marked the second time she purchased a winning ticket from the Times Market store in Bishop, Texas.
